Product Recall Notice

Commencing April 2005 the QE7 is the subject of a product recall for safety reasons.  All installed QE7’s should have their backplate replaced to bring the installation up to the required standard.  A free backplate replacement and installation can be obtained by submitting your contact details by clicking the button below.  An appointment will be made at a convenient time to carry out the necessary work.  This service is supplied free-of-charge by the manufacturer Grasslin GmbH.

Until the backplate is replaced, the QE7 should be switched OFF.  Hot water can be obtained by switching the QE7 on and pressing the boost button whilst the property is occupied.  Once sufficient hot water is obtained switch the unit OFF again.  Do not run the QE7 on automatic control or leave the boost output running while the property is unoccupied.

New units are clearly marked QE7+.  If you have a QE7+ this is not subject to any recall.

Note that there are now many installations which have been renewed by up-grading the backplate of the device, although the front controller may still bear the QE7 imprint.  The new backplate is identified by a red stripe running around the bottom-right corner of the backplate.  The red stripe is only visible when the product is partly released from the backplate (see diagram).   If the front control is partly released from its backplate for inspection purposes, it must be fully re-engaged with the backplate and the backplate retaining screw tightened.  If in doubt about whether your installation has been up-graded please submit your details by clicking the button below.
